The Greek WORD for "disciple" is "mathetes"—a student, one who follows someone’s teaching.
In the New Testament, the words "disciple / disciples" are mentioned 261 times, but "believer / believers" are only mentioned 4 times.
You should know that a disciple is different than simply being a believer.
A disciple completely surrenders their life to Jesus, takes up their cross, and obediently follows Him all of their life.
Before the Lord ascended into heaven, He told us to make discipleS. (MattHEW 28:19-20).
Jesus told us that those who don’t love Him above alL (EVEN MORE THAN FAMILY)...and WHO are unwilling to take up their cross daily are not worthy of Him. (Matthew 10:37-38).
The Lord wants you to be a disciple, not just a believer!
